The project of maintaining, restoring and preserving old houses:
In this contest, the Friends of Al-Waibdeh Association, by the single efforts of its members, has made studies on and photographed many of the old abandoned houses in the place. This step comes the second in the Association's persistent initiative to make a full and comprehensive documentation of the place in order to, systematically, maintain the historic elements of the place itself. The Association, by providing its suggestions regarding this project, looks forward to cooperating with Greater Amman Municipality.
The project of Al-Weibdeh Stairways:
Several stairways link Al-Waibdeh with downtown and other surrounding mountains of Amman. Among them, we can mention Al-Kelha and Al- Saudi stairways that people used to use them for promenading and wandering to enjoy the charming landscapes these stairways overlook. The Association considers it of great importance to maintain these stairways and made parts of them into small cafés.
The project of Al-Weibdeh Murals:
Al-Waibdeh is very distinguished for being the largest gathering place of artists working on different fields of creativity: painting, sculpturing, theatre and music. It is also, as previously mentioned, the home location of the largest number of galleries, cultural associations and syndicates of artists. Combining this with the fact that there are some buildings like schools and some governmental properties which's walls extend for long distances alongside the streets, while these walls were built of cement – unlike the stone built buildings of Al-Weibdeh – we come to the idea of Al-Weibdeh murals to be painted on such walls as a pioneering cultural and aesthetical project of which the core aim is to restore the aesthetical distinctive feature of the place.
Al-Jabal Tour Bus:
The idea of Al-Jabal Tour Bus, which is unprecedented in Jordan, meets the set of objectives and projects adopted by the Friends of Al-Waibdeh Association with the aim of renovating the life pulse of the place and promoting the spiritual reaction with its social, architectural and cultural weave of ancestry and diversity. As the bus tours the place, there will be certain stopping points where the passengers can visit some of the most important locations: Darat Al-Fonoun, Byzantine Church, the Jordanian Gallery of Fine Arts and its Park, the Syndicate of Artists, the Jordanian Writers Association, Dar Al-Anda for Culture and Arts, Makan Hall, Paris Library, theatres and other characteristic features of Al-Waibdeh which are deep-rooted elements of its identity.
Al-Weibdeh Friday Souq (the Souq of Paris):
In harmony with its own very characteristic identity, and coming out of its everlasting memory, the Friends of Al- Waibdeh Association has launched the project of Al-Weibdeh Friday Souq or the Souq of Paris – named after Paris Circle – in order to revive and reinforce the relationship between the inhabitants of the place and the exhibits of their old owned heritage and antiquities goods.
